Basically, I i'm after my first walking axe and crampons for some winter walking/low grade gullys.

Don't want to spend loads on either - they'll only get used a couple of months a year....any suggetstions?

I've been looking in go outdoors, they've got their own brand crampons made by Grivel - North Ridge Snowline crampon for £69, anyone used these? are they any good?

Cheers guys.

In reply to neuromancer:Forgot to add, I've got a pair of Scarpa SL's, so I require C1 rated crampons.

cheers.

The main requirement for walking crampons and ones for easier climbs is that a) they are spikey and b) they stay attached to your boots.

All crampons are spikey so the choice is really driven by whether you think they will stay on. Can you get to try them on your boots in the shop and compare them with others?

In reply to Goofyfoot: Can help out on both if you're willing to go second hand - have a decent walking axe too...
