 Topic - Fort William Advice

I couldn't find that much specifically here so I'm looking for some more info about Fort William. I am looking to spend two to three months up there climbing as much as possible. From what I can tell there are no bunkhouses in town and accommodation on gumtree was quite expensive: £60+ per week not including bills for 6 months min.
Also would own transport be a good idea?
