Looking for a bit of advice on what soft shell jacket to get for Scottish winter climbing and Summer Alpine. Key features need to be:-

Hood that can accommodate helmet
Highly breathable but windproof/water resistant (ie not fully waterproof)
Pockets out of reach of where harness will be
Snug fit so you can swing axes comfortably
Price up to £150

In reply to stevez: Rab Exodus.

If a Rab Exodus ticks the appropriate boxes, I've got a medium dark blue one in excellent condition here that I could be persuaded to part with

Excellent hood, pit vents, no membrane. Long sleeves with a good range of motion. Don't recall if the pockets clear a rucksack waistbelt, but they probably do; wouldn't take long to find out later!

Thanks Nick. Looked at that earlier and generally I am a fan of ME stuff. Also liked the look of the Montane Sabretooth.

I've got a Rab Baltoro Alpine. whilst mine is a bit big for me it certainly ticks all the boxes.

I was out on the Trinity face in it just yesterday and was well impressed with how it coped. fully recommended!

Bar the close fitting bit, would Paramo not fit the bill? Not used mine in the alps but for winter here it's ideal!
