everything is great with my turbo trainer except when i start to really crank up the resistance and it feels like the tyre keeps on slipping, at the moment i am just using an old 700c road tyre would a special turbo tyre make much difference

In reply to lost1977: I use Vitoria Rubio pro slicks (I think) I got them off eBay for £20 for two. I know wiggles price is about £15 which is a lot cheaper than a turbo tyre. Just have them on a spare wheel that I swap when using the turbo.
Might be a cheaper option?

turbo specific tyre , schwalbe, tacx make them about £20. they dont leave a black stripe up the wall behind the turbo and last longer than normal tyres on a turbo.

pita swapping ,but ideally a spare wheel would alleviate that problem

In reply to Radioactiveman:

not worried about the swapping as i have a 2nd bike., worth noting that the turbo isnt shredding tyres more polishing them
