I have been bouldering a lot recently, and keep getting this pain build up in my sternum while climbing. If I press it, it feels like it is bruised, and will last a couple of days. The pain comes on when Iím doing powerful moves where Iím pulling inwards, and on roofís etc. It gets so painful I have to stop climbing.
Has anyone else had a similar injury and found out how to fix it? Would any exercises help? Iíve read that itís a good idea to exercise the opposite muscles, but canít see how this would make a difference in this case. I also have pretty poor posture which Iím guessing does not helpÖ My housemate also has the same problem, but his makes a cracking noise too. He rested from climbing for a month, and it has not made any difference.
