Topic - Sternum pain
|

I have been bouldering a lot recently, and keep getting this pain build up in my sternum while climbing. If I press it, it feels like it is bruised, and will last a couple of days. The pain comes on when I’m doing powerful moves where I’m pulling inwards, and on roof’s etc. It gets so painful I have to stop climbing.
Has anyone else had a similar injury and found out how to fix it? Would any exercises help? I’ve read that it’s a good idea to exercise the opposite muscles, but can’t see how this would make a difference in this case. I also have pretty poor posture which I’m guessing does not help… My housemate also has the same problem, but his makes a cracking noise too. He rested from climbing for a month, and it has not made any difference.
Any help much appreciated. |
