Was thinking of heading up to do some grade I/II gullies on the Cobbler tomorrow, but it looks like anything north facing will have lots of unstable windslab and anything south facing will just be windy? Has anyone been up there today?

In reply to florence58: Was in today, plenty of frozen turf but a lot of powder on the crags. I would keep away from the gullies. We abed off McCauly Crack due to route finding and the guidebook being left in the car. Went into Great Gully and lots of powder at the top and windslab lower down.

There was about 8 parties in the Corrie with one team on Recess Route.

Fun day out!

Enjoy yourself tomorrow!

Climbed the SE ridge today on good frozen turf and rimed up rock. Coire bowl is quite well scoured, but slab formed in sheltered locations, with a bit of depth higher up. Girlfriend and a friend climbed Beinn Narnain from the N side, reported seeing a fair bit of slab as well, but were able to avoid all but the shallowest Snowing gently as we walked off

If anyone's interested a team have been all over the Cobbler yesterday (Sunday). Good picks of conditions on their blog: http://www.climbnow.co.uk/blog

There were at least 7 teams climbing on the Cobbler yesterday. Conditions were pretty good. Of course it will probably be buried after today...

We were there on Sat, great gully was bare and is not climbable (Unless you can make it over the chockstone at the start) Everything was quite rocky. Powder around mainly. We done a route called Heart Buttress III which is a turf/mixed route. Perfect for the conditions. You might be ok with central gully but didn't get a look at it on Sat.
