Just how strict is their diet and training?

Do they consume any alcohol during their training?

Do you know?

In reply to Blizzard: I guess it depends which sport you're talking about. I can't see the dressage team laying off the champagne cocktails! The weightlifters and shot putters will have a diet of a different sort. And I'm not sure what sort of regime an archer or clay pigeon shooter would be on.

In reply to Blizzard: Lot of good calories in alcohol, when I was doing a lot of running I used to see alcohol as an easy way to get in extra calories which i needed so I didn't loose weight.

No idea if the negatives outweighed the positive effect from the extra calories, but I assume not.
