Trawling through looking at what might be good to read during the 26 or so hours of flight and transfers I do starting tomorrow.

Any suggestions for what to put on the Kindle, preferably free but happy to spend a quid or two ...

I've noticed I seem to be enjoying crime books right now. Mostly liking things that make me think, and things which are well written. I can get a bit fussy like that. It doesn't have to be believable though. Enjoyed the hundred year old man who climbed out of a window recently.

Any recommendations oh UKC?

In reply to AlisonSmiles: Anything by Tess Gerritsen is good in the crime thing, bit of murder thrown in for good measure. Hubby likes Women's Murder Club - James Patterson.

oh and worth the 20p is 1,227 QI Facts To Blow Your Socks Off.

Not free, but very recently I've read & really enjoyed several of the Shardlake Series by C.J. Sansom. Detective/crime novels with a twist:

Freebie options could include stuff by Wilkie Collins:

This is a good place to start:

Indie books can be hit and miss, but these ones are hand picked by an author I know. The featured books are invariably good ones!

Also if you're willing to spend a couple of quid, might I humbly suggest my own piece:

I read these on Kindle last year:

They're ok if you want to kill a few hours but you don't have to think too much might be a problem?
They are all based around East Lancashire so I had fun recognising all the places described in the stories.
