Anyone know of a half decent lead wall within an hours drive of Aviemore? The gale force winds have thwarted our outdoor winter efforts thus far.

In reply to beth_may: there is a climbing wall in Dalfaber but I don't know if it's got and roped climbing or if it's just bouldering.

In reply to beth_may: Yes you can sign in to use Glenmore Lodge's wall if its not in use by courses (call: 01479 861 256 during the working day to check) or there is Climb Caledonia in Inverness but you need to check opening times: http://www.invernessleisure.co.uk/facilities/climbing-wall/

I thought the Extreme Dream climbing wall in Dalfaber had closed...

There's a wall in the leisure centre in Grantown - head through the town until almost the very end and take the right turn towards Knockando and it's on your right.

Or there's Inverness, that's within an hour of Aviemore.

Then again, seeing as the winds are from the southwest you might be ok cragging at Huntley's Cave...
