Hi all,

I've bought a hard drive thingy for my fathers tv and it needs an ethernet connection (not wireless) but the nearest phone socket is miles away.

I've trying to find a widget that allows me to do this but don't know what I'm looking for.

Any help?

Thanks

What did you buy. Make and model. If I know what you actually bought I can tell you what you need rather than what you think you need

Powerline?

We picked up some of these and a wireless extender in the Maplin sale recently.

In reply to ClimberEd: Assuming he has, or will get a broadband connection, then ethernet-over-mains (eg. PowerLine) would be a good solution. Simply plug one unit in by the Router and another by the TV. Link the TV to the PowerLine box and it's sorted.
