Is anyone aware of any ski serving classes in the Scotland (ideally the north east)? I'd like to start servicing my kit at home but I don't really want to risk wrecking my own gear whilst learning!

Probably a million miles away from you but http://www.jonsskituning.co.uk comes highly recommended. He also sells everything you need by mail order and has an extensive how to section on his website too, that doesn't constantly recommend specific manufacturer equipment.
In reply to rachelbairdhall: Thanks for your responses. The article is excellent!

In reply to rachelbairdhall: Base waxing and edge tuning can be learned from youtube, from personal experience base fills of scratches are always better done by someone in a shop with a properptex gun rather than one of the candles which tend to be softer and rip out.
I use a Toko edge tuner and a Boots mini travel iron to wax and it does a good job between full services.
