/ Tennis Elbow News
"Corticosteroid injections and physical therapy, either individually or in combination, failed to help patients with "tennis elbow" except for a short-term benefit seen with the steroids, a randomized trial showed."
Me: "My elbow joint really hurst when I do this".
Dr: "Hmm, don't do that, then".
I've suffered on and off with Tennis Elbow for a few years. it doesn't really effect me on a daily basis but it definately prevent me from trying anything too hard at climbing. As soon as I start to improve any move that pulls on the joint in the wrong way is just agonising and I know it'll niggle for days afterwards.
That'll cheer everyone up. Thanks.

Interestingly the results of this trial contradict the results of the previous Vicenzio physio therapy trial which it references:
Details of the Vicenzio interventions can be found here:
From a personal perspective, I have found physio therapy to be extremely effective. I have now fully recovered from cronic tendonopathy.
I have never considered corticosteroid injections as an suitable intervention.

Good find. I cured my tennis elbow with rehab based on that link. I now undertake 'prehab' based on the same principles.
These are normally given to release the symptoms of Angina but due to the fact that they dilate and relax the blood vessel's in the region where the patch is applied it can help.
May be worth speaking about these with your doctor.

I'm still receiving mails from people that are very happy with the results, so it works for many.

Hi Bart. Good work. As I put above, I too cured my tennis elbow with rehab based on article and now undertake 'prehab' based on the same principles! Thanks for your efforts.
