Hey,

I'm heading to Y Garn at the weekend and am wondering what the conditions are like at the minute. Specifically whether crampons are needed or not, the reason I ask is we have a stag do (responsible mountain savvy group, not idiots) but not everyone has axe and crampons.

I'm based in the lakes and I wouldn't head up some of the paths without crampons or axe but others are currently fine with just good boots and common hill sense.

I hope this makes sense, understand I'm happy making decisions on my own but I just want to know about the conditions before I get there.

Thanks

Adam

a stag do with no idiots... that sounds boring and unlikely

not much snow about at the moment, but we are due some heavy snow tomorrow.

Use the main thread for updates, but you shouldn't be going on the tops without winter kit
