I am Brian Brewster, eldest brother of Barry who lost his life on the Eiger in 1962. I would welcome comments from friends and climbers who knew Barry.

A new website, www.barrybrewster.com will become active in the next few months. If any forum members have any information or memories to impart please feel free to post a reply.

In reply to babrewster: Hi Brian. I'm afraid I didn't know your brother but the reports of his and Brian MacNally's attempt on the Eiger were an inspiration when I first read them, many years ago, and have remained so, though I never reached their levels of competence or ambition. Your brother's last words remain the epitome of stoicism, courage and self efacement.

There is a long thread about Barry somewhere hidden in these forums, might be worth a search.
