Hi

Does anyone have any clue as to what the conditions will be like in Lecco at the end of March?

We'd like to climb the Cassin route on the Medale, but if it's going to be snow capped then it will be a waste of time taking the double ropes (We'll just need the 70m single for sport).

Cheers

Jim

Hi, that`s my town! March will be perfect for climb the Medale wall because it`s usually very hot. It`s not high so no snow on the top but if you are not lucky you could find some snow on the descent route (in the northern side of the mountain). The path is easy but steep and a few cables are handy to cross the steepest part. If it`s not in condition you can always descent on the southside heading to the mount St Martino.

Anyway, if you are there. don`t miss the Chiappa route and Istruttori route on the left side of the wall (called Antimedale): F5 and F6a, six pitches and path descent on the same side you climbed on.
