Anyone know when the magazine Mountaincraft started?

My guess is 1948, but I need the exact date. Anyone know this or perhaps has one of the early mags?

Not with any certainty but it was seasonal so working backwards I get Summer 1948! - if they were all seasonal Issues 1-26 were published by the YHA if that's any help.
