Vapours have probably been my favourite for smeary grit. I can't use pointy-toe down shoes on grit slabs at all, Boosters are useless for me.

In reply to Jon Stewart: Cheers mate, is there that much of a difference between the two in terms of down turn aggression then? How soft are the Vapours?

If you've got demental shaped feet like me then Boosters are exactly the shoe for smeary grit slabs

In reply to Ky:

Yes, the Vapours are a fair bit less agressive, but still a great technical shoe. I find stiffer boots best on slabs (for proper smearing rather than easier padding), and soft ones only good for comfort on easier climbing; Vapours were stiff enough for me.

I still couldn't do Beauty at Stanage in them, but I can't do it any boots.

You're even weirder than I thought.

I've heard a few people say they like those kind of boots for slabs and I simply can't imagine it. But who am I to say?
