I have a via ferrata set from last summer holiday and it suddenly occured to me whether i could use the crabs from that to climb with.

I searched them and its these: http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/special-locking-carabiners/vertigo

The 'push down' unlock is very easy to undo but dont really see the problem in using it for an anchor. What do you think?

In reply to anomm: If you've used them on via ferrata chances are that there are 'burrs' and marks on the inside which will not be very kind to a rope or sling.

In reply to anomm: only ended up using them once so actually in very good nick - just the push lock rather than screwlock im worried about

In reply to anomm: to be honest it was a waste of money - thought we were going to do much more than we did haha
