If so I do not remember any gear but gear has progressed since 1985 so not really sure.............not much help sorry.

Not really. The original doesn't, and the direct start doesn't. The direct finish might have a small friend placement (think zero cam type thing) up near the top, might protect the last move or two (if it's any good??)

In reply to dunnyg: you can get a cam in, or two or three, at about half way. In the top half you may also get some nut placements

In reply to dunnyg: On the first ascent there was an old rusty bolt stuck in a piece of wood from an early artificial attempt, it was pulled out by hand on the second ascent, I often wondered if you can get any modern gear into the hole?

There was also an old Troll 8mm bolt in it sometime later Al.
