In reply to Tall Clare: Thanks a lot. It has to be one of the wildest most beautiful places I have ever been. With weather like that AND no midges, well. I hope to visit and explore more again soon.

My partner proposed to me on top of Ruahd Stac Mor last summer. The views weren't up to much, mind - we were in the middle of rather a large cloud...

I have to say that the local council deserve a big thanks for the fantastic camping facilities they provide and for the way they are kept spotlessly clean. Much respect to them and the responsible users.

Well we had great views but no marriage proposals came my way....

Now I understand the sudden onsets of speed. No wonder I couldn't keep/catch up. It was that hat that did it for me

wonderful stuff.
i lived near torridon a few years back for a winter, hung about the area a bit. 'magic' sums it up to me too, in a burst of rare emotive nostalgia.
love the place.
