Had a good price on a rucksac I was interested in, seemed legitimate ie UK phone and address, did an internet search and found no issues reported. Placed an order with them via debit card 9 days ago, money accepted, but no confirmation email.

No reply to two emails, not answering phone and website has been 'undergoing maintenance' for the last couple of days. http://www.boxboy.co.uk/

Doesn't sound good. Anyone had any dealings with them or can shed further light on this?

No respnse to purchase or follow up emails, not answering phone, webiste under maintenance, not listed at Company House, would start warning bells if me. Could be genuine, and if you can wait ... but if not and you paid with a visa debit card, do a charge back through the bank which is what I would do ASAP.

Contact number for Tim Smith comes out as:
http://20090915154813860.en.hisupplier.com/contact.html

But also that number shows up as:
http://www.smithcarpentryconstruction.co.uk/contact.htm

so maybe you could try that

Still no reply to emails and phonecalls and website still down. I've informed my bank who are doing whatever they do.

In reply to m0unt41n:

Thanks for this. Sounds like the family business. Might be useful if I have no joy via the bank.

No contact from Tim Smith / boxboy. Bank have refunded the cash despite paying with a debit rather than credit card. Thanks for the encouragement to pursue this. We live and learn.

Excellent about the refund. Shows that the system can work! Pity that the company did not respond - difficult to trust them ever again, so their loss (if they do get back up and trading).
We all live and learn, and with me still weekly !
Report company to local Trading Standards office if you have not done so as it may help others in a similar position to you.
