Just a few days ago I found out that the most valuable clothing during Shackleton's Antarctic adventure, was Burberry tunics.

Did you know that?

i didn't know that but I did know that Burberry gear was de riguer in the hills at the turn of the century. Forgot the name of the book but its fairly old and by the same guy who did the 100 years of climbing in the lakes video, anyways, the book a history of mountaineering in Wales and an example of a burberry advert of the period was in that book.
I've ready a bit myself about Shackle/Scott/Oats and the teams that ventured south and the sheer hellish conditions they endured is beyond belief
