Hi all,

I have been looking about at different huts across the uk and in particular in the Lakes, now the problem I have is once i have found a hut I can't always find out who owns it. Is there a definitive list anywhere at all?
I have been trying to find who now owns Ruthwaite Lodge, Patterdale for instance and drawing a blank.

Any and all help appreciated

Ross

there are also some owned by the climbers club, frcc, scouts, etc, but are members only (except where mentioned in the BMC list)

I think Ruthwaite Lodge is owned by Outward Bound.

In reply to Toreador: I thought it was the property of Sheffield Uni? Very basic facilities I believe, but that might have changed in recent years.

You may be right, I was only going from memory of the last time I walked past. I may be thinking of somewhere else.

The CC ones are not members only, it's not that simple

That's why I said "except where mentioned in the BMC list" :-)
