Recommended Alpine Peaks early May

Hey,

Thinking of heading to the alps early May to make use of the first may bank holiday. Does anyone know of any peaks which are in condition at that time ? So over 3000 meters, and for a group which have about 8 weeks alpine experience...

In reply to luke1986: might be useful to pack skiing equipment at least for descent ... if so, lots of easy 3000m peak in ötztal alps for example, ridges and short / easy ice, cable cars reducing walk-in for many summits ... huts may be closed in this season but usually have a separate room open for winter climbers.

In reply to luke1986: As replied to another thread on Alps in May: huts generally open till mid-May for ski touring, then closed till mid-June. Lots of snow this year, down to 1200-1400m at the moment, so walking may be difficult without snow-shoes or skis.
