Whats the weather like in Spain at the moment? It looked a bit dire on the Countryfile forecast tonight.

In reply to Clint86: where exactly? Spain is a large place and it's like saying "what's the weather in Britain?" We've just come back from 2weeks of good dry weather in Costa Blanca. Mind you it rained in Calpe on Friday but was dry in Benidorm!

In reply to Clint86:
Here in Barcelona we're in a for a week of showers and grey skies, though doubtless with the odd bit of sun here and there.

In reply to Missile: Countryfile deal in weather systems, and it looked like there are active fronts crossing Spain during this week. I was wondering if they were showing up in the climbing areas.

In reply to Alun: That fits in then. Cold and dry here in the Lakes. A bit too much of a good thing!

In reply to Missile: The weather in Britain is generally cold and dry. Big high pressure.

In reply to Clint86: Calpe: hot on Saturday, overcast and dry yesterday, looks like a sunny day today.
averaging 21 degrees, perfect for cragging even on south facing cliffs

In reply to paul__in_sheffield:

Southern Spain is a bit crap and wet. Has been for a few weeks and if today is anything to go by it seems set to continue.

If you've got a car there's always somewhere to climb.

In reply to Clint86:

Costa Blanca today is sunny yet windy! Looks dry for the rest of the week, we have had a few groups that had flown into Malaga and then decided to come up here and give El Chorro a miss!

As someone already said Spain is rather large and the weather can be different all over, it rained over night in Sella but not in Calpe!

In reply to Clint86:

Spain is huge - and there are loads of mountainous areas. Lots of rock. Which climbing areas do you want to know about?

fFYI its raining in Madrid.

In reply to Clint86:

Still amazing on the Costa Blanca, I have a house full of lobsters! lol

It was forecast to rain this morning and I had 4 drops on the car whilst driving.

Tomorrow Friday supposed to be wet! but fingers crossed it passes us over as it has all week.

In reply to Sam Mayfield: Weather good up here in Denia too, so Gandia and Jalon should be good.
