Took a later than expected run into Udlaidh after work last night. Access road (to farm and to the hill!) is completely clear of snow and ice, actually quite wet underfoot in places on the walk in once off the track.
Snow level generally coire floor. Still lots of ice about (will link to Facebook photos tonight) on the main routes, Organ Pipe looking especially fat. Snow is "strange" in places....hard packed solid right beside soft and unconsolidated on similar aspects/same pocket of snow. VERY light dusting yesterday.
Due to late start, we went for a wandering line up Tinkerbell (first ice line on RHS as you enter coire). Missed the steeper section/pillar at the start, and skirted the upper ice-fall, due to lack of screws, but a good fun outing with scope for plenty variation. Ice was good and varied, must have been catching a bit of sun over last few days.
Mates went up top for a walk, reported full coverage on the "plateau" with solid snow mostly throughout.
Heard a couple of others in the coire during the climb but couldn't see anyone. Finished by head-torch, back to the car for half ten, good use of an evening I'd say!!
Cheers,
Gordon.
