The guide seems to switch between using roman and Arabic grade numbers eg V+ and 5+

Is this just an inconsistency of is there some meaning like... ?

5+ = F5+ = sport and V+ = UIAA = not fully bolted

All the routes featured in the guidebook are fully bolted.

We've simply carried on using the grades given by the first ascentionists.

Below '6' some give French-style grades while others prefer to use the UIAA equivalent.

Thus 5a = V-, 5b = V and 5c = V+.
