As in title. Are these ropes really as amazing as the adverts make out or have they just given famous climbers free ropes then asked for a statement, to which the climber has obviously replied with a positive statement( who doesn't love free ropes?)?

In reply to ilovetoclimb: Mine seems to be pretty damn sturdy, although getting a little stiff. No furring or obvious wear after 6 months heavy use!

Have had my marathon 10.1 for a just about year now. As durable as they say. Run over loads of slabs and can't see any real wear.

In reply to ilovetoclimb: A friend bought one out climbing in spain recently, it stood out with its unique patterning and was really nice to climb/belay with. Seemed a really nice rope but I can't comment on the longevity.
