I climbed Scafell via the West Wall Traverse and Lords Rake on Sat, the path is very eroded on the scree to Mickledore and the descent onto the West Wall Traverse path was less than pleasant under foot down to the start of Lords Rake. The scree in Lords Rake itself is very loose and personally will be leaving this one till it's all frozen up in the winter before I make a return trip.
There is still some snow in there!!
Great situation though, very atmospheric in there..

Its definitely a great way to the summit, and no crowds! but the loose scree is a def downer. I was the only person up there and looking across to the summit of Scafell Pike watching the streams of walkers (mostly 3 peakers, judging by the no of minibuses in Wasdale) I think I made a good choice.
