/ Cuillin Ridge Traverse - Record Broken
Fantastic - well done Finlay.
Ridiculously impressive. Well done to Finlay.
It took me about that long to do the aonach eagach today.
Absolutely jaw-dropping! :-)
Amazing! Congratulations Finlay!
Seriously good effort !
Does anyone know where the start and finish points are for this? Surely not Glen Brittle to Sligachan?
Start Gars-bhienn and finish Sgurr nan Gillean.
it will be Gars Bheinn to Gillean
from my understanding the route for a record attempt also includes Sgurr Dubh Mor
Fantastic effort Finlay! Well done indeed. Very impressed.
Brilliant honesty.. he did it in 3:10 last week.. but then "omitted to touch the summit cairn of Sgurr Mhic Choinnich, despite passing 10 metres from it.."
I've done that and still have yet to claim it again I think..
So he re-did it in 3:14..
Totally agreed, Iain... he's effectively done 3:10 and we *have* to give both times in the SHR 'long distance' page update! :-)
Amazing, and it's 10% of the time it took me (including the time spent on an overnight bivy)!
Astonishing time. Just goes to show what elite hill runners can do with technical climbing ability. Amazing effort Finlay!
Absolutely fantastic achievement, especially the willpower to get up there a week after such a disappointment, and terrific modesty in the blog.
Of course! See the splits here:
