My random musing for the day.....

Why does opening my hips (frog, but more the cross one leg over the other thigh stretch) make me feel noticeably light headed.

Not particularly unpleasant but a little odd.

In reply to ClimberEd:

restricting blood flow thru the femoral artery maybe?
if youre legs are a bit pumped beforehand, therefore stacked with blood, it may be reducing your blood pressure as it cant get back to the heart fast enough...?

i recall a technique in thai massage where they hold your leg up over your chest to do something like this. for what, i dont know exactly.

i could be completely wrong.

In reply to ClimberEd: Yes a little odd. Mention it to your doctor next time you see them. Could be your femoral artery/descending aorta, you may just be holding your breath, who knows.

Make sure you are breathing when stretching. I normally hold a stretch for 5 breaths in and out. Im having a problem with my left hip at the moment. It feels really tight and as a consequence, my whole leg feels tight. A good session on the rollers and some mobility exercises should help.

I get it just kneeling down for a minute then standing up!
