/ Vaude Power Atreus
Has anyone used one of these? Looking for a bomb proof 3 man mountain shelter and I reckon these look decent for the cash. Any feedback / strong alternatives much appreciated!
I have the small version, the Odyssee.
It is very strong.
The external poles make it the easiest tent I have used when it comes to putting the tent up or taking it down in very strong winds. Just pec the bottom of the tent to the ground, and then go round adding clips one layer at a time - the bottom clip for all poles, then the second bottom clip, then do the guys, then the rest of the clips. Not the official advice, but IMO gives a better pitch as well as minimising the flapping.
Tent fabric well cut, which also minimises flapping.
Thanks for the feedback! It's a lot of cash to splash but I'd hope it'll
Last a really long time!
Excellent, bomb proof tent,
The price of Vaude tents varies A LOT.
You can get the Atreus for £400 at Otdoor World at the moment (499 list price plus 20% off all tents this weekend...)
There is a rule that says, whatever tent you buy, the next day you will discover one that is better.
AAWaUGH! Not just before payday! Nightmare. Good spot though. Thanks for the heads up. Really appreciate your input.
Best try for size.
The power Odyssee is officially a 2person tent. But it would need to be two people smaller than me.
