/ Cairngorms midgies?

How are the midigies in the Cairngorms at the moment?

Specifically Beinn a' Bhuird.

Got attacked yesterday evening next to ciste gully nr the ski centre car park but wind was non existent.

Think if there is a breeze you might survive. Take a head net just in case

In reply to Cameron94: Was out a week ago up Ben Macdui and Derry Cairngorm from Linn of Dee and narey a midge. Not especially windy either.

In reply to Cameron94: Was up the Dubh Loch 2 weeks ago and in the evening with no wind it felt like prime midge time. Thankfully there were none. It did seam very odd.

They are late coming, but they are beginning to really bite not helped by some pretty persistent still and humid weather. Not sure about Cairngorms specifically, but west coast was bad last week. However, a few people were swearing by this new stuff "smidge", and they definitely seemed less bothered than me!
