We are approaching this year's trip, and the anticipation is building! ;)

How much snow is lying around the top of the Index upwards, towards the Aiguilles Gliere and Belvedere? I am expecting to need crapons and axes, but hoping not?

We have some relatively inexperienced folks with us who may just want to do lower level walks, so what is the snow line currently for the Balcon Nord? Can you do the traverse from the Midi Plan along to Montenvers as a 'walk' for example?

I take it the Vallee Blanche has a lot of snow over the crevasses?

Any relevant comments/advice/observations welcome.

In reply to JohnnyW: the snow line is well below the top lift at flegere? , defiantly will need crampons and a axe at the moment

Looks like a lot is still lying! Should be some pretty hefty trails cut by the time we get there though if not already!

Blimey, that is low. I will have a watch of the vid later, as I am not allowed at work.
Looks like crampons for the walkers too then Adam.
