Hi,

I am trying to decide whether to fit a Propex HeatSource heater or a Diesel heater to my van. I am going to be using it to stay at ski-resorts and cols etc. in the Alps this winter so will be above 1500metres quite alot. I was told that the propex doesn't function well above 1500 metres by one van-outfitter. However, I have read on the net in forums people talking about using them at about this altitude without problems. Does anyone have any experience of this? Any advice appreciated!

For ease of use/cheapness/general heat level the Eberspacher D2 can not be beaten really.

In reply to tnj: I have a Propex Heatsource and it worked fine at Alpe d'Huez, that must be 1600m

Thanks for the advice guys. The Eberspacher does sound like the best solution but the propex is cheaper and I can fit the it myself and therefore save quite a bit of money.
Although the propex and its gas bottle will take up storage space in the van....decisions decisions!
