/ Guide Book Advice - Berry Head
Would someone be able to recommend to me a good guidebook for Berry Head? Preferably with lots of pictures in it.
Either Rockfax by Mark Glaister - lots of piccies, good for a first visit, or Nick White's S Devon & Dartmoor, definitive (out of print) - good for words and a unique take on the art of guidebook writing. Nick also produced a more recent supplement. All these should still be available.
PS. Bird ban on most of it till end of the month
Rockfax has the best pictures. Some helpful topos here from Kafoozalem that fill in some of the gaps.
www.javu.co.uk can guide for other DWS stuff.
Buy the Nick White guide if you can - the most enjoyable guide you will ever read, but can't find it for less than thirty quid.
As others have said:
Rockfax - West Country Climbs - select routes with good photo topos
Nick White - South Devon and Dartmoor - definitive guide b&w topos, out of print
Rockfax - Deep Water - covers the DWS routes
Javu.co.uk - again covers DWS
Whatever you do make sure you check out the bird restrictions first which affect all the great cave routes and chunks of the DWS stuff.
