Cost aside for a small general purpose hi def video camera does the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera look a better deal than the latest GoPro?

Watching in the largest window and best quality setting the mobile phone sized camcorder seems to best even quality DSLR's at video. Adding a water/shockproof case and is it game over for GoPro.

That is a very cool looking camera, but I think it is a bit too big to directly compete with gopro. Larger SLRs and video cameras could be in trouble though.

its the size of a mobile phone plus a 4/3 lens. Would not the quality and versatility at least in part trump the slightly smaller size of the GoPro.

Anyone getting one? would love to know how it performs in the real world.

In reply to Antigua: We will be getting a couple of these at uni in september, so i'll update you on what they are like, although my film school is buying them to be able to continue to use the currently obsolete 16mm cine lenses we have, so it won't be quite as small on the picture haha
