Hi,

Just wondered if there is any sport climbing close to Accrington Lancashire.

In reply to Chris Aston:

How close do you need? Yorkshire is an hour away and has two of the best sport climbing crags in the country*

*probably.

In reply to whispering nic: Yeah have tried it sport climbing section brings up all local crags which i already boulder and trad at , just fancied getting on some harder climbs to help my trad grade go up or at least give me more confidence to try harder trad .

Thanks

The only sport I'm aware of in Lancashire is at Warton Quarry, but it's probably crap.

There's Chapel Head Scar, but that's probably further than Yorkshire for you (?). Surely you can be in settle in less than an hour?

Ultimately though, I think bouldering is probably a better option in these parts.

Don't forget Barrow Scout Cove! (though it's even crapper)

In reply to a crap climber: Well I never, so there is. I'll add it to the database in my head....

However, there are restrictions due to some old people it seems: https://www.thebmc.co.uk/modules/RAD/ViewCrag.aspx?id=990
