Anyone got any experience of metatarsal issues? I have a painful 2nd metatarsal - its been bad for about 7 weeks (minor sprain on that ankle a couple of weeks earlier which seems to have healed OK) - stabbing/electric shock/dull ache. Running makes it a lot worse, as does fast walking, as does climbing, and even putting a bit of oomph on the pedals on the bike (very stiff shoes) wakes it up. Physio #1 suspects a hairline crack, physio #2 a mortons neuroma. GP sends me for scans... X ray shows nothing, MRI booked for a few weeks time, and I have a referral to a podiatrist on the way. Any thoughts anyone - I'm getting bored with swimming...

Thanks

Kevin

Sounds very frustrating, but sounds like you have got the right appointments to get a diagnosis, I had a similar problem that mostly took time to clear up - getting some swimming lessons and/or try outdoor swimming might help. Must be some other things to keep occupied maybe canoeing, yoga?
