I saw this app mentioned in a photography magazine. It uses your smartphone to transmit its location to the emergency services when you summon help, and it works all over the world, it says. See www.echo112.com for further details. Emergency services say they often have a problem obtaining an accurate description of the caller's location - this solves that problem and saves time. Having had to have a helicopter rescue on a skitour crossing the border between Austria and Switzerland, and watching the helicopter fly over us twice despite us wearing red and waving at it, I appreciate its usefulness.
This message could do with being in other topics, not just here.
