I heading off to Gavarnie and need to know whether coleman screw in type gas canisters are available in the Gavarnie shops? Anyone been there recently? When I was in Chamonix and Switzerland 2 years ago I had no problem buying coleman screw in canisters but I've read on the internet the blue camping gaz piercable stoves are much more common over france and coleman canisters can be hard to find.

In reply to oren02: We found some but its not easy. Buy a converter and then you won't have a problem!

In reply to oren02: Intersport sell them but I'm can't remember where the nearest one is to Gavarnie. Try Googling. There are a few outdoor shps in Luz St Sauveur, en route to Gavarnie. Otherwise, if you're flying to Toulouse or Pau there'll be places there.
