Maybe not quite the exact forum, but here goes!
I am looking to purchase a digital projector so that speakers can hook up their laptop/mac book when giving a lecture. I also need a screen. It looks like a nightmare trying to find out what is reasonable and what is rubbish. Any advice would be most welcome.

I'm surprised that someone who organises lectures doesn't already have one!

I've been considering getting one recently too and found this quite useful:

I have always gone with Optoma. Have had an Optoma HD72i for nearly 6 years now and still on the first bulb. Comparatively the Optoma bulbs are cheaper to replace than many (a serious consideration)at around £110 each.

The Optoma HD600X-LV is well rated/review and basically the budget price end of the market but still with good performance.

In reply to Cobbler: Do I know you? Have we been formaly introduced?
Seriously, I have organised quite a number of lectures over the years but have only used venues that have the equipment.
I'm looking to take a different direction into smaller venues.
thanks for the info.
