The factory zoom on an old Digital Rebel XT we have has finally died, so I'm casting round for a cheap replacement. Nothing fancy, in fact I was thinking of just sticking on a 50mm like this the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. It's just to mess around with - the usual outdoor subjects: landscapes, occasional people. Looking for something cheap, light and compact really. I find camera's take really shit photos when left home in a cupboard because they're too unwieldy.
