Hi,

Has anyone found travel insurance that covers ice climbing abroad that is reasonably cheap? I don't want to pay BMC prices for my single trip as I'm not interested in becoming a member of BMC to merely take out insurance. Unfortunately all 'off the shelf' policies don't include ice climbing and when I phoned AXA up they said they don't customise the policies.

Any recommendations much appreciated.

Cheers
In reply to Nevis_Ben: Snowcard, dogtag both cover extreme sports including Ice climbing. not sure if they are any cheaper.

In reply to Nevis_Ben: UK Branch of the Austrian Alpine Club. Has the added bonus of 50% discount on hut accommodation and provides annual cover.

Check the small print that Dogtag will cover you for the activity you intend.

I bought their insurance earlier this year, but followed through with a phone call to confirm. Having spoke to them on the phone, I withdrew the cover and went with Snowcard instead.

Just finished browsing all suggestions and I think Austrian Alpine club plus a cheap travel policy for the airport and flight stuff is the best. Comes in at around £55.

Cheers for the pointers folks.
