rope and gear when flying

Hi going to tenerife in a week with rianair and wondered if anyone knew if you could put a rope in your hold lugage? I know you cant have it in hand lugagebut rhink your spose to get a sports travel lugage thing?

In reply to timmyhobby: No, it will be OK in the normal hold baggage as is any other climbing gear including axes and crampons.
