In fact, in Mountain Trial terms, it never happens - yesterday was the first time the event had to be pulled due to conditions.
I think it's been cancelled previously due to people being unable to access farmers fields to park but this is different.
Conditions were the worst I've been out in, rain and wind wise. We tried to get to Styhead, but the funnelling effect of a Col we were going over into a headwind (galeforce) meant that we could even look into it. It was astonishing.
After that though, I got a 4 hour run in but with careful planning - not into that headwind !
