It'll be interesting to see what it does for climbing access in the gorge, nothing good would be my bet given the rockfall and congestion problems climbers would cause.

Frankly I can't see it working as a mass appeal tourist attraction especially if it's 'fenced' like the picture above suggests. That said, done right it has potential given the excellent rail connection to the fleshpots on the coast.

In reply to GeoffM: They are planning to renovate just the upper gorge for now, where the climbing is banned anyway. Whether they actually go ahead with redoing the entire thing remains to be seen. They have tried numerous times to get the project going, even doing some repairs to the walkway here and there), but it always had the plug pulled for one reason or another. Fingers crossed eh?!
