Anyone out there with some good India knowledge??

Im going to be in Hampi from late November to January. Im not going to be climbing every day, but is there enough climbing there for a long stay???
Ill be back in India from March until the end of August. Im travelling with my bicycle and want to spend July and August touring in Ladakh.
I would like to fill some of the time in between with some climbing, any suggestions for nice places to visit??

Hi Dave,

Hampi: I have not been there personally but have heard from friends that you can easily spend there a few months. Watch out for bears and other "friendly" animals

Ladakh/Himachal Pradesh climbing: I have spent there 1.5 months climbing, 1.5 months travelling/chilling out. Climbing: search for chat(t)ru, chota d(h)ara, zanskar. These places are spelled differently. Amazing bouldering there, thousand of rocks. A few rock climbing crags can be found around Manali/Vashist. Plenty of trekking/climbing companies which can give you advice. I reccommend High Himalayan Adventures in Vashist - very friendly people. They usually know if there is somebody in chattru, chota dara to climb with.

I would reccommend asking at indiamike.com forum. Much more people with India knowledge.
