Im compiling a sub extreme ticklist of South West sea stacks routes.

Any suggested routes for inclusion please?

In reply to Choss:

On that note, would someone in possession of a south Devon and Dartmoor guide be kind enough to add the Ladram Bay stack routes (Lost World, the Razor, et al) to the Logbook. Cheers Ta.

Ps. Im after said guide by Nick White, if anybody has 1 for sale.

Off the top of my head, going anti clockwise:
On Lundy, the constable, needle rock, devils chimney, st james island, gull rock
Black church rock
The one 5miles west of black church rock
Bear rock, hartland
Screda point , inner and outer
Gull rock ,marshland mouth, outer stack
The wick
The horn plenty
Black rock, widemouth.
Udulpho (it's a stack anyway...)
Long Island
The Wild West one at Carn gowla
Porthmoina island
Knights Templar and arch rock at lands end
Terriers tooth
Several off Torbay
Big Picket Rock and his pals
Old Harry and associates
...and probably hundreds of others.....

Good list, although I think Terrier Tooth is pushing it!

Add bosistow Island.
OP Choss 22 Sep 2013
In reply to Choss:

Cheers for those suggestions. Some known, some unknown.

Not going with terriers tooth as a stack.

Bosistow Island definitely interesting.

List still in infancy and planning, but if anyone would care to join me in ticking these 'interesting' routes, dont be shy. Especially if you have a car, and preferably, a Rigid Inflatable Boat.

Forgot Bantham Hand.
And Chapman Rock, that 's the one along the coast from Blackchurch.
I'm sure that old John Cleare book ' sea cliff climbing in Britain' would bring up a few suggestions....
Most will be offshore rocks and islands. Devils chimney would probably be the pick of the bunch unless your into the big picket type of thing....

Left S. Devon for Middle East a month ago but will be back next summer if you're short a partner - the Parson is top of my list.

In reply to Choss: Routes on Stacks at E1 and above? We have some here, look up
Portelet Pinnacles
Gull stack
Bigard stack
Corbiere stack
and the Peastacks

Not all routes may be listed on here though, you'll need to check the guidebook or email me.

In reply to Toerag:

Cheers.

Been wondering whether to include Jersey and Guernsey. (And the isle of wight needles, but that's through fear rather than geography)

If i include Jersey group, are you up for joining me there at some future point?

One thing, it's a sub extreme ticklist im compiling.

In reply to Choss:

it's coming on.

Would be particularly keen to hear of any Somerset sea stacks, pillars, arches. Currently drawing a blank?
OP Choss 27 Sep 2013
In reply to Choss:

Just in case anyone is interested I've put ticklist up.

It's not quite complete yet. Still got to add Old Harry group, and Torbay area.
