Trying to fix a gummed up bubble machine.

Complicated little thing I've taken to pieces. Bottom line is, the motor won't turn, even when all the other parts aren't attached to it, unless given a little shove.
This is impossible when assembled so.

Last go, what's the best solvent for removing all traces of this concentrated soapy/detergenty slime?
It's too thick for water to remove alone.

I've tried WD40. No good. Some other sort of oil?

Cheers.

Sounds a bit brutal but diesel is good for cleaning gungy bike parts. Might work for this?

Alcohol. I use MEK <nasty stuff> for some jobs but usually IPA <isopropol alcohol>
You'll prob not have any of those but meths is good, it'll soften gunge then evaporate away taking any solvents in the gunge with it. Clean up any residue afterwards. Vodka would work at a pinch but not as good as its only 40% ish alcohol, meths is 90% or so

Get urself down to home bargains and buy some of that sticky stuff
/gum remover. The stuff you can use for getting gum/grease off clothes.
It'll break down most stuff.
